As in all the “L” compositions, the main interest of the canvas, the vulture, is in the angle. Every landscape, every sight can inspire dozens of canvas. I really love Iberian landscapes. Although I was born in Extremadura, now I am particularly obsessed for the mountains in Cantabria and Asturias. Any wild animal in those great landscapes show a special dramatic quality. The timid Iberian fauna often makes me paint crippled animals living in Recovery Centers. This vulture is “Nicolás” and loves boots. “He” is very popular among the naturalists visiting “La Cañada Real” I wanted to pay a tribute to Nicolás dominating the summits where he should be.
